Mary Laura enjoys talking about her own books, but she also loves talking about other people’s books.
Like many writers, Mary Laura has a day job. She’s a bookseller and the founding editor of Musing — the online magazine of Nashville’s legendary independent bookstore, Parnassus Books.
Musing reaches thousands of people each week through subscriptions and social media and has been featured and/or syndicated by outlets including Lit Hub, NPR, Publishers Weekly, Shelf Awareness, Salon, and more. As the editor (and often author) of all content, Mary Laura manages regular sections including the Authors In Real Life interview series, the Shop Dog Diaries column, Notes from Ann (Ann Patchett’s blog), plus lots of other articles, lists, and staff book reviews.
